The International School of Choueifat – Muscat opened its doors in September 2001 with 98 students. In September 2007, the school has moved to purpose built premises set on a spacious campus conveniently located close to Al Seeb International Airport. Like its sister SABIS^® schools, The International School of Choueifat in Muscat is a multinational, non selective, co-educational, independent, English medium day school serving both the local and multinational communities and catering for students from the age of 3 + years to 18 + (KG to Grade 13). Currently the student population stands over 970 drawn from 34 nationalities, providing a diverse cultural exposure to complement the high-level education offered.
The purpose built school offers world standard educational facilities. These include classroom buildings equipped with computer and science laboratories, a library, an art room, a music room, a multi-purpose performance hall, and a main multi-purpose sports center with an indoor heated Semi-Olympic pool and a gymnasium. The outside sports facilities include a grass football pitch and all weather outdoor courts. The lower School Department, KG to Grade 1, is a separate section with a huge classroom building, outdoor and indoor playgrounds, a swimming pool and car track.
The Shift
After having settled for six years in the modest premises of our Medinat Sultan Qaboos campus, the ISC – Muscat administration decided to shift to a new campus located in the Al Hail, suburb of Muscat. Numerous obstacles awaited us, yet this seemed not to deter or dampen the spirits of our enthusiastic and determined Choueifat staff. Classrooms were prepared with zeal as staff relished the blank canvas the new school provided.
